Columbus zoo Carousel

his restored 1914 Mangels-Illions carousel has been spinning for over four years at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium,
Located in POWELL, Ohio, and has in 2004, celebrated its one millionth rider.
It took its first official spin at Zoofari 2000 on June 17, 2000.
he carousel has been in Columbus since 1914. It was first located at Olentangy Park in the Clintonville area of Columbus,
and was then moved to Scioto Ranch Park (where Wyandot Lake now stands) in 1938. This carousel as with most of them,
is an endangered species of sorts, as it is one of less than 200 of the original 5,000 wooden carousels in the U. S. in the
early years of the twentieth century. Click photo ( left top) for slides.
